Last week two of our year 10 students competed in the regional final held at Castle View School, Canvey Island. Britney delivered a speech on the topic of dementia, Grace’s speech was on the topic of bullying. The organiser of last week’s regional competition described Britney’s entry as ‘very moving’.
To take part in a public speaking competition in front of a huge audience is a nerve-wracking experience many of us would dread but the programme has really given them a confidence boost.
Jack Petchey’s “Speak Out” Challenge! is a programme run by Speakers Trust and funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation.
They believe everybody should have the skills, confidence and desire to speak in public, and are dedicated to helping people of all ages and levels achieve this.
