Wise Campaign


On the evening of Monday 12th November from 6pm - 8:30pm, OPA Science dept. have once again invited the organisation called WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) to deliver the People Like Me event, WISE campaign for gender balance in science, technology and engineering, therefore the event is for girls only and we extend the invitation for a female relative to accompany them. Year 11 Focused Revision


Year 11 Focused Revision is on Monday 29th - Wednesday 31st October. Students must be onsite at 9am in the OPA6 lecture theatre, and should not arrive before 8:45am. They can wear their own clothes and only need to bring something to write with and their Maths, English and Science books if they have them. Only students who returned their reply slips to Mrs Thacker confirming their attendance should attend. There will be further opportunities for other Year 11 students over the year ahead.

Commedia characters take over Royal Opera House Thurrock Trailblazer school


Commedia characters take over Royal Opera House Thurrock Trailblazer school, Ormiston Park Academy STUDENTS at Ormiston Park Academy got lessons in comedy and characterisation over three days when artists from Thurrock-based theatre troupe The Complete Commedia Company visited the school. Bernadette Wakeling and Alex Mangan from Complete Commedia ran workshops in commedia dell’arte, the 16th century Italian style of theatre. 65 students from three classes from Years 7, 8 and 9 took part in the physical theatre and movement workshops. Ormiston Park Academy Champions Global Thinking


Year 8 students at Ormiston Park Academy in Aveley enjoyed an exciting trip to the USA as part of the Think Global programme ran by Learning Workz. The unique programme gave Ormiston Park students the opportunity to team up with students from other local schools and to participate in a range of activities focused around ‘global thinking’. Students who took part were encouraged through these activities to think about how their actions as an individual play out in a wider setting. West Ham Soccer Schools


As a partner of West Ham United Foundation we are delighted to be able to invite your pupils to the launch of our unique programme in collaboration with British Esports Association, London Sport and Archery GB! This FREE programme aims to use Esports as a hook to get young people to participate in a range of physical activity during school holidays or extracurricular time. Sue’s Schoolwear update


Dear Parent / Carers We are processing all outstanding orders of about 41 and these will be complete by the end of this week. As we complete orders we will be texting those parents to say they are able to collect from school. As a batch are complete we will bring them to the school complete with the childs first initial and surname for easy collection.
