Dear Parent/Carer Further to my letter to Thurrock Council below, I would like to encourage all to inform the Council of their concerns and questions via the dedicated email address: [email protected] I feel I must clarify strongly that the decisions currently being made around transport are NOT the decisions of the Academy, and we too have raised our concerns and questions over this matter. I can assure you we will be working on this matter with the Council with the aim of securing the best possible transport arrangements for our students.

As we approach the end of the academic year, we warmly invite you to attend the Year 7 Progress Evening to discuss your child/dependent’s progress as they approach the start of their Year 8 studies. During this evening you will have the opportunity to meet with your child/dependent’s teachers to review the progress they have made since starting OPA and to set targets to help them reach their aspirations for the year ahead. As we work towards preparing for the start of the next year, the Governors have now agreed the date of the Academy’s final INSET day. This is to be: Monday 9th July 2018 Students will NOT be required to attend the Academy on this day. Governors have also agreed all five INSET days for the 2018/19 academic year and these are: Tuesday 4th September 2018 Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th January 2019 Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th July 2019 Read full letter here

Revision runs from 10am – 1pm in the Science area. Pizza is provided at the end of the session. It’s Physics Paper 1 revision this Saturday in preparation for the Paper 1 Physics exam on Wednesday 23rd May. Students can sign up for revision during registration with Mrs Thacker.
