Here at OPA6 we see the true value of offering students opportunities to participate in host of academic and social activities and trips. We believe these develop student confidence, interaction, drive aspirations, broaden experiences and provide lasting memories.
Activities and trips are sometimes offered as a free event, could be subsidised by the Academy or will incur a cost to the parent/carer. When activities and trips are offered, parents/carers will be informed of the specific details prior to any event by letter and parent mail text.
Throughout the year we aspire to have one social event a month, ranging from dinner; cinema; bowling; museum tours; gallery trips; shopping excursions etc.
Students are able to suggest which trips we offer by making contact with the Student Voice team, where regular meetings inform positive actions that are taken to make OPA6 even better.
Every other month, OPA6 offers students and their families the opportunity to visit a workplace or university campus to gain knowledge and understanding about the possible choices they might make for their future careers.
Each month the OPA6 team offers a breakfast session where all students and staff are invited to attend to catch up with each other, share how their studies have been going, and any ideas they have that they want to take forwards.
