“Standards of achievement are rising” at Ormiston Park
In Ormiston Park’s latest Ofsted report (April 2015) inspectors noted the significant progress that had been made by new leadership at the Academy.
Following the two day inspection, Ofsted noted that “teaching is improving” and “standards of achievement are rising” at Ormiston Park, with pupils praised for being “almost unfailingly polite, sociable and co-operative.”
Overall the school is classified in the Requires Improvement category, but inspectors identified “strong capacity” within the leadership team to “drive forward rapidly the necessary improvements.”
Principal Huw Derrick comments:
“It is my ambition to lead Ormiston Park to become an Outstanding Academy for the local community.”
“As the Ofsted report recognised, our new leadership team has already had a significant impact. We have much work to do but are absolutely committed to continuing to build on the progress we have made.”
